Hi Guys -
I am back after a hectic schedule.....
Offlate, I was reading on CTO's view of future of IT and here is my deduction-
- Gone are the days of labour arbitrage.
- Client is more concerned about IT and Timely Delivery.
- The next biggest things that will rule the forthcoming years in IT are:
a) Cycle Time reduction.
b) Aligning IT to Business Processes and Product Development.
c) Software development cycle has to be smaller and has to be done in smaller functional & logical pieces and bug free releases are expected.
I am looking for a debate on aligning IT to Business Processes and product development. We shall explore more about this topic in the forthcoming posts. Mail me your thoughts.
Thanks
Shiva

ReplyDeleteThe labor arbitrage still holds, coz a recession or slowdown may have forced a few Americans to take jobs with lower salaries ,but its just temporary ,
ReplyDeletewhen the things get back to normal their cost of labor will again go up, because a recession can change a salary but a recession cannot change a Average American lifestyle.(the spending habits, etc..)
on aligning IT to Business processes > i think,it is not difficult to predict that as addidas,as nike or even as Airtel plans to do(i.e manage their marketing and business development function and outsource the rest) other companies will follow suit.but the winners will be those who have a tight vendor selection process, and value vendor expertise, relationships more than mere cost benefits.
